The library in the Central Polytechnic College is one of the best among the libraries in polytechnic colleges in the state of Kerala. The library has a collection of 31427 volumes; 7176 titles; 18 journals; and a number of periodicals. The functioning of the library is powered by Koha Software.
The fully automated library enables students to expand their knowledge base as the primary focus of the library is to acquire and organize the latest books, CDs, and journals. The knowledge resources available in the library are scientifically classified and arranged so as to make it easy for the students to identify and pick up books they want. In addition, students can use the library facility for their reference and reading requirements.
All students and staff members of the Central Polytechnic College are entitled to become members of the general library. This is to enable members to use the facilities and services for the purpose of doing all work related to academics, research, and administration. However, the use of the facilities and services of the general library implies the acceptance of the stipulated rules and procedures.
The general library remains open from Monday to Saturday from 9.00 a.m. to 4.00 p.m. The library will remain closed on all Sundays and public holidays.
Book Borrowing Rules
- Students can borrow up to 3 books for 14 days.
- Teaching staff can borrow up to 5 books for 14 days
- Non-teaching staff can borrow up to 3 books for 14 days.
- Late fee payable for overdue books for all user categories is Re. 1/- per day per book after 14 days from the due date.
