Library of Central Polytechnic College

The library in the Central Polytechnic College is one of the best among the libraries in polytechnic colleges in the state of Kerala. The library has a collection of 31574  volumes; 7244 titles; 18 journals; 298 E-journals, 11 magazines,and 5 newspapers. The functioning of the library is powered by Koha Software.

The fully automated library enables students to expand their knowledge base as the primary focus of the library is to acquire and organize the latest books and journals. The knowledge resources available in the library are scientifically classified and arranged so as to make it easy for the students to identify and pick up books they want. In addition, students can use the library facility for their reference and reading requirements.

 DTE Kerala has made a central subscrioption of Knimbus- cloud based digital library with mobile app which can be accessed anytime, anywhere and any device integrated with paid resource of Elsevier Science Direct Journals (Engineering and Computer Science). All the staffs and students of our institition can access this facility through their E-mail Id.

Membership

All students and staff members of the Central Polytechnic College are entitled to become members of the general library. This is to enable members to use the facilities and services for the purpose of doing all work related to academics, research, and administration. However, the use of the facilities and services of the general library implies the acceptance of the stipulated rules and procedures.

Library Hours

The general library remains open from Monday to Saturday from 9.00 a.m. to 4.00 p.m. The library will remain closed on all Sundays and public holidays.

Book Borrowing Rules

• Students can borrow up to 3 books for 14 days.
• Teaching staff can borrow up to 5 books for 14 days
• Non-teaching staff can borrow up to 3 books for 14 days.
• Book Bank Scheme holders can borrow 5 books for one semester
• Late fee payable for overdue books for all user categories is Re. 1/- per day per book after 14 days from the due date.
