Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC)

IQAC Objectives:

  • To develop a system for conscious, consistent and catalytic action to improve the academic and administrative performance of the institution.
  • To promote measures for institutional functioning towards quality enhancement through internalization of quality culture and institutionalization of best practices.

IQAC Functions:

  • Development and application of quality benchmarks/parameters for various academic and administrative activities of the institution.
  • Facilitating the creation of a learner-centric environment conducive to quality education and faculty maturation to adopt the required knowledge and technology for participatory teaching and learning process.
  • Arrangement for feedback response from students, parents and other stakeholders on quality-related institutional processes.
  • Dissemination of information on various quality parameters of higher education.
  • Documentation of the various programmes/activities leading to quality improvement.
  • Acting as a nodal agency of the Institution for coordinating quality-related activities, including adoption and dissemination of best practices.
  • Development and maintenance of institutional database through MIS for the purpose of maintaining /enhancing the institutional quality.
  • Development of Quality Culture in the institution.

IQAC will facilitate / contribute to

  • Ensure heightened level of clarity and focus in institutional functioning towards quality enhancement.
  • Ensure internalization of the quality culture.
  • Ensure enhancement and coordination among various activities of the institution and institutionalize all good practices.
  • Act as a dynamic system for quality changes in HEIs.
  • Build an organised methodology of documentation and internal communication.

IQAC Responsibilities:

  • Ensuring timely, efficient and progressive performance of academic and administrative tasks.
  • The relevance and quality of academic programmes.
  • Equitable access to and affordability of academic programmes for various sections of society.
  • Optimization and integration of modern methods of teaching and learning.
  • The credibility of evaluation procedures.
  • Ensuring the adequacy, maintenance and proper allocation of support structure and services.
  • To keep track of the departments to equip to be accredited by the NBA and ensure that those departments maintain the standards of the NBA.
  • Meets every 3 months or more frequently, as is necessary.
  • Planning and follow-up of all academic and faculty- related activities.
  • Discussions /reviews /recommendations of all academic policies, procedures and proposals of the institution and various departments.
  • Guidance to faculty to prepare lesson plans and log books.
Academic Audit

Scope of Academic Audit

All departments of Institution: The departments are expected to have developed a strong outcome based approach in teaching-learning. The audit team will assess the activities involved in developing learning outcomes, design and development activities in curriculum, teaching-learning process, student learning assessment process and student engagement programs. The audit team will also assess the quality and quantity of research outcomes during last three years. The audit team will also assess the quality of resources and general ambience from perspective of meeting the learning outcome.

Academic Audit Team

The Academic Audit Team will have following composition:

  • Two for each department (One with credibility in teaching; the other one with exposure to accreditation)
  • The members may be nominated by the Chairperson of the IQAC. The members must be of equivalent rank of HoD/ Senior Lecturer

Audit Process

  • Each Department will prepare a Self-Evaluation Document (SED) in the prescribed format and submit it to IQAC.
  • The Audit team will visit and conduct onsite evaluation through check of documents and interaction with stakeholders.
  • The audit report will be prepared citing comments, and recommendation for each department.
  • The report will be shared.

Frequency of Audit

            Once in each semester.
